HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT GRANT

On Monday May 10th, 2004 Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen visited Daytop for the "official" presentation of a federal grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The check for $447,075.00 was the first and largest contribution toward the construction of Daytop Preparatory School. Congressman Frelinghuysen has been a loyal friend in support of the mission and activities at Daytop since its arrival in New Jersey. He held a "town meeting" on our campus which included government participants and Morris County prosecutor Michael Rubbinacio. Children and parents from area high schools gathered to hear first hand the dangers that surround and tempt our teens, warning signs and advice on how to cope with ever changing standards in our modern society.


DAYTOP NJ TENTH ANNIVERSARY

On September 27, 2002, Daytop New Jersey celebrated ten years of serving and saving the young people of this state. A number of dignitaries participated in the program, including Dr. William Librera, NJ Commissioner of Education; NJ Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen; NJ Senator Anthony Bucco, and Robert Caruso, Director of the Partnership for a Drug Free America. Many other friends and supporters attended the event, and stayed to enjoy the reception.
