the Campaign for the
DAYTOP PREPARATORY SCHOOL
In the Spring of 2001, Daytop NJ received a provisional license from the New Jersey Department of Education, to operate a private school for students with educational disabilities. This has made Daytop Preparatory School the first (and only) licensed approved private school for students with educational disabilities in New Jersey that is also committed to a long term substance abuse treatment program.
To comply with all state mandates a new facility will be erected in Mendham. This project must be completed within five years in order to obtain a permanent license.
The population at Daytop New Jersey has grown substantially in all areas since we opened in 1992. To accommodate clinical and medical staff plus residential housing, administration offices must relocate. With outreach programs in Morris, Sussex and Hunterdon Counties, plus the prospect of expansion in Southern New Jersey, a central office is needed to organize all satellites with the home base. This New Jersey Leadership Center will also be on the Mendham campus.
We at Daytop are proud of what we do and whom we serve, and we intend to continue to provide the best educational programs and services for our special students. The need is obvious, and our mission is clear. The Board of Trustees has decided to begin the campaign to raise $7 million to make this dream a reality.

Daytop NJ has been meeting the therapeutic needs of young men and women in New Jersey for the past ten years. As a result of our involvement with addicted youth, we know that successful rehabilitation can only be achieved when these young people leave our program with a solid educational foundation, to help them develop and hone their skills to lead productive and satisfying lives. Recovery is supported when there is belief in the future.
